God of surprises!

'We must prepare ourselves for bad surprises in life, but we should not forget the hand of God in all things. "

Howard Butt, Jr.

Recently I accepted an invitation to an interview with a newspaper - I was not very prone to do. The pressures of schedule, added to anxiety about the questions that would be made, I left negative and reluctant.

But God surprised me. The person who interviewed me was extremely dynamic, full of enthusiasm and joy. Rather than pass what I thought before the interview gave me breath and energy for the day. Fortunately - though reluctant - I prayed as I headed for the interview to find the reporter. God answered my prayers in seconds.

Whitney Balliet wrote a valuable book on jazz, entitled "The sound of surprise. In the book, he talks about the unpredictability of jazz. In this genre, you never know what's coming next - the rhythms, harmonies, etc.. - And that is something extraordinary jazz. He always surprises us.

Such is the life and work. The only certainty is change, it always comes as a surprise. We can even predict the arrival of a change but not know its details. The surprises that God sends are usually mundane and ordinary. Unfortunately, he did not let us surprise you. Instead, we live in fear of the bad surprises. We want to anticipate them, having faced the, let's take back control of the situation.

Of course, we must prepare for the bad surprises in life, but we should not forget the hand of God in all things. Furthermore, we must be careful that our expectations do not lead our way. Much of the joy in our life is determined by how we react, we react with joy and gladness, or dissatisfaction and fear.

You remember the story of Paul and Silas in prison? Perhaps the two of you are tempted to give up sleep to forget the unpleasant surprises that could bring the chain. Instead, Paul and Silas have turned the corner on God's surprises. That's when the night started to get interesting! The prison doors opened, a guard almost killed himself, and a community was spiritually blessed. What should be a desperate night became a night of joy and surprise! (At 16)

Unfortunately, because of our nature, we tend to see life with a look at ourselves. All experienced betrayal at some point in our lives. We all learned that surprises can be unpleasant.

How we protect you from bad surprises without being hostage to fear? How do we continue to enjoy the surprises of God in the ordinary?

Many would like to think in terms of complex formulas and rules. In fact, the formula is pretty simple. Our joy begins and ends with faith with thanksgiving. Cultivate a life of attention. Jesus constantly told his disciples that they were aware, pay attention to the finer things in life. Gratitude requires faith and faith produces gratitude. Ingratitude is the fruit of unbelief. A god ignored is a God denied.

When we live with gratitude - and with proper humility - we are constantly amazed. Much of the wonders and beauty of life comes from the encounter with the surprises. We were surprised, but not God. The resurrection of Christ is the great surprise of the story. That is why "all things work together for good to them that love God" (Romans 8:28).

Mas Deus me surpreendeu.

(At 16)

Evangelize the world, is the great desire of God's heart

The Bible says that God does not rejoice in the death of people who are away from it.
For it is God's plan that everyone believes in Jesus and
be saved.
The more we are dedicated to evangelism, the more we are hastening the coming of Jesus to seek
his beloved church.
See what Jesus said:
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached throughout the world for a witness unto all nations, then shall the end come."
(Matthew 24:14).

God chose them (2:13-14)

God chose them (2:13-14). Paul calls the brothers' beloved of the Lord "(2:13). In fact, God loves all and desires the salvation of everyone (see John 3:16 and 1 Timothy 2:3-4), but Paul here refers to the special love that God has for those who are truly his children for their obedience the gospel (see John 1:12, 1 John 3:1). These loved ones have been chosen by God "from the beginning for salvation." The Lord made the plan to save the obedient men, like these, even before he formed the world (see Ephesians 1:3-5).

The salvation that God has planned "for the sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth" (2:13). God is holy and demands that those who approach him are also saints (the holy word means "separated", see 1 Peter 1:14-16). Who loves the truth does not walk like the world because the world acts by error and falsehood. Thus, God sanctifies whom does the truth (see John 17:17).

Therefore, it is necessary to know the truth in order to practice it. The Lord revealed the whole truth through the gospel, and he calls all people to obedience (2:14; see Romans 1:16-17, 1 Peter 1:22-25, etc.).. Those who obey the Gospel will be resurrected and glorified with Jesus, to be eternally in the presence of God (see Romans 6:3-9, 8:18-23, 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, etc.)..

The duty of the elect (2:15). As we have seen, the mere knowledge of truth is not enough for salvation, because God sanctifies those who practice the truth. So Paul emphasizes to the Thessalonians brothers the need to continue with all firmness in the "traditions which you were taught" (2:15). We must understand that the religious traditions of men are strongly condemned by Jesus (see Matthew 15:1-20). Here, however, Paul uses the word to describe everything that he personally taught. When Paul taught in each place, and wrote the letters later, he spoke the truth of God in Christ Jesus (see 1 Corinthians 2:1-2 and 12-13, 14:37). As he taught the same thing in all the churches (see 1 Corinthians 7:17, 16:1, Galatians 1:1-2, Colossians 4:16, etc.). And brothers Paul practiced what he taught them the truth Christ became the "tradition" in the practice of the saints.

Prayer by the firmness of the chosen (2:16-17). God proved his love by giving them holy by his grace, which gives the word "everlasting consolation and good hope" (2:16). Since the brothers have proved faithful to their word, Paul prays that God may comfort their hearts, even amid the troubles, and stand firm on truth in whatever they do and say (2:17; see Colossians 3: 16-17).

Rich in the name of JESUS

Much is out there as being from God but is not. "In Jesus' name I command, I do, I say ..." so many fraudsters advocate of the Almighty. In the Old Testament that was denounced by God as His holy name was being used to endorse things that had not ordered: "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I sent them not, nor gave them orders and they never said anything. His views are lies, and their guesses are worth nothing "(Jeremiah 14:14). Days ago I received an invitation to participate in a pyramid of money, with an interesting name: Christian MLM. Sending two real to the person within 90 days receive 300 thousand dollars coming from a network of people. This dream would not call attention lottery if they were words of encouragement to enter the pyramid "is a new way to raise funds for your ministry. Have you ever stopped to think that this program can be God's answer to their prayers? So think about it. When I received this invitation I had the same doubts as you. But I had faith in God, I accepted this challenge that has been proposed. And I've been blessed. I am also sure that you will be. "

In the name of God has much promise fraudulently deceiving so many people taking advantage of the weakest people - money. The two actual pyramid, or that offered "to God's promise to win the double is the same thing in relation to that played the lottery, gambling, bingo, horse racing, etc.. It is not just a money systematically thrown out and that would yield good savings. But above all is a sin fueled by greed. Both games of chance (and even bad luck) as the promises of the false prophets of prosperity, is present this old sin of greed, one of the most condemned by God because it brings so much injustice, corruption, selfishness, crime, obsession, and many other ills of society. The most serious, however, is this misuse of God's name. The Apostle Peter warned against this kind of people to write: "... false teachers will appear among you. They teach false doctrines and destructive ... In his greed for money, these false teachers will exploit you, telling stories invented "(2 Peter 2.1,3).

It is no wonder that Jesus taught in the first petition of the Our Father: "Hallowed be thy name." Martin Luther, explaining the petition, says that sanctify God's name "when the word of God is taught clearly and purely, and we as children of God, we also live a holy life in accordance with it." The Christian life is the signature, the hallmark of God in the world where you live, along with what you preach and witness. But this propaganda of God, Christians need to know what God said in His word for "not being more like a child dragged by the waves and pushed by every wind of teaching people false" (Ephesians 4:14).

It also warned the young pastor Timothy against false doctrine, the apostle recommends: "It is clear that religion is a means of enriching, but only to the person who is content with what you have ... If we have food and clothing, be content with that . However, those who want to get rich fall into sin to be tempted, and get stuck in the trap of many foolish desires, which are bad and cause people to sink into misery and destruction "(1 Timothy 6.6,8,9).
